PEACE OR SLOTH

Following a university brief, to create a portfolio of images regarding deadly sins and an array of emotions, I chose ‘Peace’ and ‘Sloth’. The following images aim to demonstrate these two words in conjunction with each other and how, in today’s society there could be a blurred line between them.

I have never aimed to provoke certain dialogues or create drastic social commentaries about the state of the world but for this project it was fascinating to see what we often might miss going about our day to day business. This demonstrated my idea of ‘Sloth OR Peace’. I believe my work touches on the notion of ‘ignorance is bliss’.

The application of the ‘street photography’ style emphasises the normality of this naivety. I was able to head out onto the streets one morning and create this portfolio of 10 photographs.
